Privacy

This is the website of a private home. It has no accounts, no sign-up and no forms. Here is what it does and does not do with information about you.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. The site is a set of static pages served by Vercel, our hosting company. Like any web host, Vercel keeps short-lived server logs (the address of your connection, the page requested, the time) to run and protect the service; we do not use those logs to identify visitors. We set no cookies.

We do not run analytics or any visitor counter at present. If we add a page-view counter, it will be configured without cookies and without profiles, and this page will say so.

The detail hunt on the Explore page remembers which details you have found. That list is kept only in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us; clearing your browser data removes it.

What other companies may see

Some parts of the site are loaded from other companies’ servers, which receive your connection address as part of serving them:

• Google Fonts for the typefaces (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com).
• YouTube for video. Clips are embedded through youtube-nocookie.com; a video’s preview image is loaded from YouTube’s image servers, and the player itself only when you press play (on wide screens the home and Halloween pages play a muted clip automatically). YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to the player.
• BoardGameGeek for the box-art thumbnails on the Game Night page.

Links to Facebook, YouTube, GoFundMe and other sites take you to those companies, whose own terms and policies apply.

When you write to us

The only way to contact us through this site is email (perry@chateaufairmount.com). We keep what you send so that we can reply and, if it concerns the house’s history, so that it can be checked and credited. We do not publish anything you send without your agreement, and we do not share your address.

Photographs and people

We publish photographs of living people, and the names of private individuals, only with their recorded consent. Historical figures and public office-holders are named from the public record. Images are credited to their source wherever one is known.

If something on this site concerns you

If you believe an image, a name or a statement here is yours, is wrong, or should not be published, email perry@chateaufairmount.com with the page address and what you would like changed. We will acknowledge within a few days and remove or correct the item while we look into it.

Children

This site is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone.
