Commission a portrait or a painting of your house
The portraits and house paintings in our galleries are made the same way: a photograph, painted over in the manner of the portrait painters and American Impressionists of the 1880s to 1910s. We can make one for you.

What we offer
A portrait from your photo
Of yourself, a parent or grandparent, or anyone whose permission you have, painted in oil in the style of a late nineteenth-century portrait.
A painting of your house
Your house, the whole of it with sky above the roof, painted as an Impressionist would have seen it a century ago: cars, wires and other modern things left out.
- About $5 to $10 each. It is a purchase, not a donation, and it is not tax-deductible. Nothing is charged through this page: we reply by email with the price and how to pay before any work begins.
- Made with AI. Each painting is made with AI image tools from your photograph, then checked by hand, and it is always labeled as an AI painting (on this site, with the mark ✦).
- Delivered privately as a high-resolution digital file, by email.
- Paintings already on this site: ask about any one in the request. Paintings made from real-estate listing photographs are not for sale.
Friends of the House
If you would like, your portrait or your house can hang in a future “Friends of the House” collection on this site, kept separate from the historic galleries. That is entirely optional: nothing is published unless you say yes.
We publish only what we can verify
Everything on this site rests on sources. If you would like a painting published with a biography or a history of your house, we may check what you tell us against public records (newspapers, directories, deeds, obituaries and the like) and ask you for more. Anything we cannot verify stays private. Your photos, your email address and anything else you send are never published, and are used only to make your painting and reply to you.
Requests for a minor are accepted only from a parent or guardian, and a minor’s portrait is published only with that parent’s or guardian’s OK.
