Statements this record supports
- C-181 — Before 355 Merrimack Street (C-054), Bonney lived on Bridge Street in Centralville from 1853 to 1861 ('opposite Third' in the directories of 1858, 1859 and 1861) and boarded at 12 Hurd Street in 1864–66; the 1875–76 directory places him at 355 Merrimack Street, corner of Austin.
- C-200 — Charles Lilley, the judge's father, is listed working for the Tremont Corporation in 1839, at the Hamilton Corporation in 1858 and as an overseer there in 1859, as an overseer until 1868, and as a machinist from 1870 to 1900. In 1875–76 his son, 'Lilley Charles S. designer, at carpet mill', boarded with him at 83 Cabot Street.
- C-211 — The namesake of the Martha Rogers House was on Fairmount Street by 1875: the directories list 'Rogers Martha Mrs. widow, house 32 Fairmount, Bel.' in 1875–76 and 'Rogers Martha Mrs. house 32 Fairmount' in 1886; in 1870 she was a widow at 18 Kirk Street. Old No. 32 lies between old 18 (new 24) and old 46 (new 62), where the present No. 46 stands.
- C-212 — The Asa Hill of the Asa Hill House is Asa V. Hill, music teacher, not Asa Hill Jr., who died in 1870: the 1875–76 directory lists 'Hill Asa V. music teacher and musical instrument dealer, 129 Central, house 46 Fairmount, Bel.', and old No. 46 is the present 62 (Willard A. Brown is listed at 46 in 1886 and at 62 in 1894). In 1866–70 Hill lived at 25 Willow Street.
- C-213 — The Eli Thorn House stood by 1875: the 1875–76 directory lists 'Thorn Eli, mason, house 139 Fairmount, Bel.' (old No. 139 is the present 175), and his widow Beata is listed there in 1886 and, as 'Thorne Beata, widow, house 175 Fairmount', in 1900.
- C-220 — David E. Chase lived at old No. 163 (the present 205) Fairmount Street, opposite Whitman Street, in 1875-76 and died on November 5, 1885; George A. Chase, of Boston, is listed at the house in 1886 and, as No. 205, in 1894. David E. Chase is not in the Lowell directories of 1858, 1861, 1866, 1868 or 1870, so the roster's 'about 1856' for the house is not supported by them.
- C-228 — Ex-Mayor Charles A. Stott 'owns and occupies' the house on the corner of Porter Street (Russell, 1891); in 1875-76 he was agent of the Belvidere Woolen Manufacturing Company at old No. 119 Nesmith Street, and in 1906 he is still listed at 173 Nesmith, as treasurer of the company, with Charles W. Stott, its superintendent, boarding there.
- C-229 — On the other corner of Porter Street stood 'the house built by Mr. Samuel K. Hutchinson, and now belonging to Mr. Charles C. Hutchinson' (Russell, 1891). Samuel K. Hutchinson was a builder, listed in 1875–76 at old No. 127 Nesmith Street; Charles C. Hutchinson, treasurer of the Mechanics' Savings Bank, is at 187 Nesmith in 1894 and 1900, and Franklin F. Nourse in 1916.
- C-232 — Darius C. Brown, maker of reeds, harnesses and wire heddles, lived on 'Fairview, near the reservoir' in 1875–76 (at 89 Church Street in 1870); the Old Residents' Contributions record that he 'was born at Freetown, Mass., May 2, 1814, came to Lowell in 1836, and died, Jan. 18, 1892'.
- C-237 — George W. Dutton, carpenter and later overseer at the Lowell Machine Shop, lived at old No. 121 Fairmount Street in 1875–76 and 1886 and at No. 149 in 1894 and 1900; Jennie S. Dutton was there in 1926.
- C-238 — Orrin B. Silver, contractor and later overseer at the Lowell Machine Shop, lived on 'Fairmount, opp. the reservoir' in 1875–76, at old No. 127 in 1886 and at No. 157 in 1894.
