Statements this record supports

  • C-206 — After Atherton left, the works he had run at Tewksbury kept his name. The Atherton Machine Company's foundry there burned on July 21, 1890, with a loss of $24,000; by 1905 the city spoke of 'the plant of the old Atherton Machine Company' and of the part of Tewksbury 'known as Atherton'; and by 1907 the Warren Company had bought 'the so-called Atherton Plant'.
